The weather temperatures in the Black Hills and surrounding area can fluctuate between the mid-50s to high 80s, within the same day. Elevation will vary from 4209’ to 7179’ on any given ride. Although the area is called the Black Hills – the area reaches mountain elevations. Rain is a daily possibility throughout the region. Please pack accordingly and plan to dress in layers. Lastly, South Dakota and Wyoming motorcycle riding laws require eye protection, helmets are optional.

- Eye protection (Sunglasses and yellow/clear for cloudy/night riding).
- Sunscreen for body and lips.
- Raingear.
- Field glasses or binoculars.
- Camera/GoPro type recording device.
- Gloves.
- Riding jacket, long sleeve shirt(s) and/or sweatshirt.
- Chaps, gators, or riding pants.
- Comfortable riding footwear that is also comfortable for walking.
- Reusable water bottle.
